Tips and FAQ

You have questions…. We have answers.

Describe your style – I often describe my style as a “Romantic Comedy”. I love for my couples to be giggling in their photos and have a natural feel to them. My goal is for you to look back in 20 years and feel emotion from your photos, not just have super posed images. I also try to have a mix of both photojournalism and modern styles using creative lighting, unique perspectives, angles, compositions and artistic post production refining to bring out our clients personalities and beauty while telling their wedding story

What does your pricing start at? Light packages starting at $1k+ our associate shooter is available for $2k+ to find out more please email chace_yang@hotmail.com

What is your typical timeline for the day? I normally arrive about 1 hour before you get your dress on. This is when I capture the shoes, ring, flowers, dress, invitations and other details as well as some finishing makeup photos. I then take bridal portraits and bridesmaids and some family photos. Then I capture the bridal party, couple and other family photos with the bride and groom. At the reception, I normally stay until the cake cutting because after that point you get the same dancing photos over and over. I also love to schedule night time photos sometime during the reception.

Do you have an experienced 2nd photographer? Yes, I normally always have a 2nd photographer to capture different aspects of the wedding that I might not be able to capture. I also trained my 2nd photographers so they have a more similar style so your photos flow really well in your album

Does my package include printing rights? Yes, the majority of my packages include high resolution photos with printing rights.

My Uncle has big SLR camera, and he said he could take pictures. Do we really need a professional photographer? -Sigh- I suggest just googling “What happened when I didn’t hire a professional wedding photographer” and see what kind of stories come up. This question/statement made is really the worst thing we as a professional could hear. Not because it could affect us financially, but because of the possible horror you could one day go through.

Do you travel for weddings? Yes, I absolutely LOVE to travel for weddings!

Engagement Photo Ideas and Tips

Untitled-1

Engagement photography sessions are wonderful for many reasons. Engagement photography not only provides you with beautiful imagery capturing your pre-wedding romance, but it also gives you the chance to create an unique presentation at the wedding. By request, we often use engagement session imagery to create wonderful slideshows, guest sign-in books, event cards, invitations and more!

In addition, the engagement session also allows you to get to know your photographer a little more prior to the wedding. This allows you as a couple to build a better relationship with me. This relationship will allow us to create more natural and unique imagery since we have a good understanding of your unique personalities and tastes.

clothing choice – We recommend 2 outfit changes for the 3 hour standard session. It’s also a good idea to choose lighter colors and simple patterns during the day. Darker colors and fancier choice for the night time engagement pictures. Many times your engagement photographer will ask you to sit on the grass / bench / floor and lean on walls, so dress comfortably for those situations.
engagement props – We encourage all types of props for the engagement session. It can be something sentimental ( favorite soda, coffee mug, books, movie ), handmade ( banner, save the date sign, old photos board ), and even something big ( car, vintage trailer, styled shoot props ). Dogs and cats are also welcome for your session! Many websites also sell engagement photo props such as Esty.com.
locations – Think of a meaningful place to the both of you. For example, the place you went on your first date, where you proposed, or another special date place for the two of you. We can also suggest some of our most popular engagement session locations in New York City. If you choose multiple location, make sure to budget enough time for the travel in between. For example, a New York City engagement session may include Central Park, Brooklyn Bridge, and Soho. You will have to consider the traffic and various methods of getting there – which one is more efficient? taxi, subway, drive, or walk? You may also have to consider how crowded is the photo spot – will there be alot of people in the background? We can help you narrow down the list and pick the best spots.
story style – Not all engagement photos have to be like a casual date in different locations. You can talk to us about how you meet each other and interesting stories you both shared. We can plan with you and photograph your engagement as if it’s telling a story, much like stills from movie. Simple love story, a suspense, and even a themed storyline will be fun.

We no longer offer in-house studio session. For each event and photo shoot, we bring our studio lighting equipment to the venue or location chosen by the client. We photograph all of our children and family portraits outdoor or at client’s pick. Depending on the months of the newborn and baby, the photography session is usually photographed at client’s home in New York City.
